Bottom Skimmer on an inground swimming pool?

We are new to the pool game. The pool guy said our bottom skimmer was open. Where is this located and how do we close it?

Take a look at your pump system, there should be a couple of valves somewhere near there... usually the push kind. One should say Skimmer and the other should say Main Drain or something to that effect.

Close the main drain one 1/4-1/2 of the way to draw more water through the skimmers.

If you can't find it and have a digital camera, feel free to drop me some pictures at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and I'll help you any way I can. If you include the gallon size of the pool I can also set you up on a chemical/mechanical maintenance schedule to help you keep your pool pristine and healthy.
