Tapering....what is that? ive heard it before but i dont know.? |
what is tapering? ive heard it before by some of my fellow swimmers. but i dont know what it means. helppp. tapering is the shortening of workouts ussally before the biggest meet of the season. you also do alot of fast stuff with really easy sendoffs so you get lots of rest. i.e if your swimming 100 fly at the meet and your time is about 1:30 per 100 then sendoff will something like 3 for like 5. It only last a week so if you ever taper enjoy it while it lasts but just know you have to earn it. it feels so good (I know seeing as I currently tapering for a big international meet next weekend) and it feels even better when drop 3 sec in a 100 free in one meet. you have all this energy that your ready to use and all of the sudden you swim so much faster. it great. hope this answers your question. That's when male swimmers sharpen their penis into a fine point to become more aerodynamic. I'm not a swim coach but feel I can try and explain it to you. Its as the season is coming to an end or you are coming up to a big meet. Your coach will taper(cutback/shorten) your workouts in order to get you to peak at the meet. Most often people taper at the end of the season in order to Peak and the Conference or National type competitions. Hope this helps... Best of Luck!!! tapering is taking it easier for a short period before a race. This allows your ody to recover from all the hard work so you feel refreshed and have max enrgy levels on race day. swimming has its season just like any other sport, it has its share of loading, it means these are the times when your work out is really hard, high volume, high intensity and all of the load that a swimmer can carry, then comes tapering it is when the season will start and the competition begins(major competition), tapering means that the workout load will be lessen not as hard as the loading, but it will work on your pace, speed, and technique for the upcoming competition, it can also be a period where your muscle recovers from the hard workout and prepare for the upcoming competition hope this helps It's when practices get easier before a meet so you aren't as worn out. high school swimming |
