Contacts and swimming? |
ok so i have contacts and i was wondering am i allowed to swim wit contacts in the pool and beach? btw there one day contacts. if i swim wit them will it damage my eyes? yeah you can. and i don't think they'll damage your eyes more than the cholorine might already do. i play water polo with mine in and they haven't fallen out yet. the cholorine sort of makes them stick to your eyes. just remember not to take them out right after you are done swimming. wait awhile so they can become unstuck from your eyes. Source(s): water polo player and swimmer. Yes you can swim with your contacts in just don't open your eyes at all when you do. Otherwise they will come out and be sure to clean them afterwards. granted you are talking to someone who wears glasses (haven't done the contacts). but just tonight I went swimming with two friends who both have contacts and they did fine. just don't open your eyes under water, or rub too hard when you pop up out of the water. Well, i have contacts that i wear for 2 weeks, and like today i didn't wear them to the beach cuz once they floated off when i was under water and i had to get the next pair like a week early, but i guess if you change them every day it wouldn't be such a big deal. It also depends on your vision. If you have really bad vision, you might wanna try it so you can see if they dont fall out, but if it's not really that bad, then i'd just go without. i dont think so i have contacts and i wear them all the time for swimming and i dont have problems i use one day, disposable contacts, that way if any unwanted bacteria gets in them, it will just get thrown out at the end of the day. But if you don't have access to one day disposables, make sure your either wear goggles to protect your eyes, or, keep them closed when you go underneath the water. at the end of each day and before you put the contacts in in the morning, make sure that they are thoroughly cleaned. |
