My directional eyeball has broken off my return outlet. My water is still circulating but it's coming straight out from the return, will this cause circulation problems? Should I replace the eye?
You should replace it. They are designed to direct water flow into stale areas of the pool. Without the water flow being directed properly through the pool you can end up with chemical dead spots or concentrated chemicals in specific areas.

Registered CPO (Certified Pool Operator) with the National Swimming Pool Federation http://www.nspf.com/ and maintaining public access swimming pools for many years now. It won't cause any problems, but you should probably still replace it.
