Bought new swimming pool, and put fresh water in it...can I go swimming ASAP or must I put chemicals?

will the fresh water burn my eyes or anything?

..If I need to put chemicals, how long must I wait before I can go in it?

The chemicals are to balance the water and make it sanitary. You can swim in it after filling or go ahead and balance the chemistry and then swim a few hours later. The second option is best but you can balance the water after swimming in it for the first day or two. However, you increase the risk of getting an algae bloom or bacterial bloom in the water if you do this. you need to put the chemicals into it first and let them do their thing.
if its a big pool, then ya u need to put chemicals..but if its a small one u dont need to...and if u do put chemicals u have to wait to get in ...i forget how long but i know u cant get in right away
good luck!
people swim in lakes and rivers and ponds and creeks and those haven't been treated with special chemicals. I say go swimming (it's like taking a big bath!) and put the chemicals in later
You can swim in fresh water as long as it has not been sitting for days and has not changed color at all. Depending on what type of pump/filtration system you purchased, you may be able to swim immediately. If it is salt water, that is the best i have been told. No chemicals at all. Call your local Leslie's pool supply house and they can answer all of your questions.
you do need to put chemicals and when you put the chemicals you have to wait two hours or moreif you want to get into that pool and this isn't a chemical but when you mix salt it it only takes 1 hour for it to be ready
