How long does it take for Algae to die?

I have green Algae in my pool. I have super chlorinated it. It has been 15 hrs and there is no change yet. Should I add more chlorine or wait longer?

Do a water test. If you have any combined chlorine in the water (subtract the free chlorine from the total chlorine reading) then you are going to need more chlorine.

If you can, take a sample of water down to your local pool store and have them test for the following:
Total chlorine
Free chlorine
Combined chlorine
pH
Alkalinity
Hardness
Cyanuric acid
Total dissolved solids
Metals
Phosphates

Bring the results back and post them here or feel free to email them to me at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and I'll help you get back on track. Please include the gallon size of the pool, material it's made of, filtration system, chlorination system, and chemicals you've used in the pool over the last two weeks (ingredients are best but name brands work too).
