In swimming laps, what do you call that 360 turn when you reach the end of the pool? |
i see people doing in when in laps, just as when they're about to reach the end of the pool they spin and a kick off and then they're swimming again. Do you know what is it called and do you know links on where i can learn how to do this? or videos or instructions with pictures or something.... Thanks!! it's called a flip turn. They are very easy to learn. here is a video of a flip turn: http://youtube.com/watch?v=b5bzltgziga... Here are insturctions on how to do it: http://www.ehow.com/how_5299_flip-turn-s... Flip-turn. Easy to do, but I can't give you a link - just one of those things that comes with practice. Ya don't call it anything! Your "360 turn" is actually a 180 turn! You get to the wall and you turn do a flip I usually call, this is called a tumble turn also what you call a 360 turn and I suggest first try practicing turning in the water, that's how I learnt it, then go to the wall, and try it. I've found an excellent website showing you the complete process in video and writing, here it is: news.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/hi... If you still need help you can e-mail me, it's in my profile. THe tumble turn is very important and it improves your speed alot. Good luck! It's called a flipturn. I don't know of any sites that can show it to you but I can explain it. You basically just do a front flip next to the wall and then push off and turn over onto your somach.
