Can i swim in a pool 2 hours after shocking a pool? |
Can i swim in a pool 2 hours after shocking a pool? If you used a persulfate type or oxygenating type of shock then you can swim 15 minutes after adding it. If you used a chlorine shock (calcium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium dichloro-s, trichloro-s, perchlorate, etc) then wait until the levels of chlorine have dropped back down to 5ppm or lower for total and free chlorine. Source(s): Registered CPO (Certified Pool Operator) with the National Swimming Pool Federation and maintaining public access swimming pools for many years now. i don't think you should, you should probablly wait like 4 hours atleaast What? I guess it might depend on the type of shock you use, but we swim after 20 minutes. i dont recommend it, the chlorine levels will be really high and it will probably do some damage to your skin. |
