How do you patch a hole in your pool? |
I have a whole in my pool. What is a good way to patch it so it won't leak? go to a pool store and ask for a pool patch kit. Make sure you cut the patch in a circle if you cut it in a square then the edges will pull up. put your glue on fold the patch over and hold it for 30 seconds then put it on the hole do not aggetate the patch for 24 hours. That should hold it in place. You can do it under the water also it doesn't matter. if its plaster you can go to a pool store and get a plaster kit, also the same if its vinyl you can go purchase a vinyl kit. A gallon kit costs about 70 - 80 dollars. The 5 gallon kit costs 150 - 200 dollars and that's for the plaster The vinyl one will run you 110 dollars for no matter the size Go to the pool store and get an underwater patch kit. You cut the piece of vinyl one in bigger than you need on all sides, put on the underwater glue, and then apply the patch, holding it for however long the instructions tell you (15 minutes maybe). Then just monitor your patch. It beats the hell out of getting a new liner or pool and it is very inexpensive. I have a patch on my 15 year old liner that continues to last some 9 years later. No problem. |
