Stamina/Speed Workouts?



I am a water polo player and the high school season starts pretty soon. I know that being a good swimmer all around is very important, in addition to other things, but I still have trouble with some of the swimming aspects.

As a swimmer, I get all of my speed from the dive and my flipturns. In water polo, there are no such advantages. Also, I am a sprinter/mid-distance swimmer, so my stamina is not spectacular either.

My question is this: can anyone help me by perhaps giving me some swim sets to help my explosiveness and/or my stamina?

Easy Warm-Up: 400 Swim/ 400 IM/ 100 scull

Sets: 12 x 50's of Freestyle Kick with Kickboard on the 1.15

4 x 25's sprint Free on the 1.00 (You should be getting plenty of rest if not change interval)

Easy 300 swim

4 x 50's sprint Free on the 1.30 (You should be getting plenty or rest if not change interval)

Easy 300 swim

6 x 100's sprint Free on the 3.00(You should be getting plenty of rest if not change interval)

Easy 300 swim

Warm Down with an Easy 400 swim of choice
