BOMB diving into the pool, and now......................? |
my boyfriends ear is all funny, and hes now like sorta deaf in his right ear. this happened after he bomb dived into the pool lastnight, he came outta the pool and was complaning of his ear being sore, and its still the same today. obviously water or something has went in and hurt his ear drum or something(??????) im not too sure.... hes tried cleaning it out with cotton buds, still the same. what else could he try doing to help with his ear, what could be the problem, or how long does this usually last for? neither of us has had this happen to us before, so we're both not so sure what is the problem? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks! *hugs & kisses* Jo xXx He could have shocked it with the impact of the water or worse he could have burst it. He needs to see a doctor straight away and would suggest not putting anything in his ear in case it introduces germs causing an infection. He needs to tip his head to the side and move it up and down as if trying to shake the water out, this usually works. He will be able to feel the water trickle out if it does. If it really, really hurts and he can't hear well or at all with that ear, it could be a ruptured ear drum. He should go straight to the doctor before it gets infected. If it doesn't hurt that much, it could just be water that won't come out. He could put a drop or two of rubbing alcohol in it to help evaporate the water. BUT if it's actually a ruptured ear drum, it'll hurt like...heck. It sounds like he has damaged his eardrum. I've put a pinholes in mine a few times. He needs to go to a doctor to make certain it isn't something that needs work (needs tubes put in, etc.). |
