Would like to know if anyone knows how to set up a salt water swimming pool? |
What type a pump and filter to use? Amount of salt required. You can use any type of filter and pump that is rated for your pool. The salt generator is plumbed into the return line of the plumbing, after the filtration equipment and heater if you have one. The amount of salt will depend on the make and model of salt generator as well as the water volume of your pool. Most residential units work with a salinity of between 2500 ppm - 3200 ppm. You need to buy a special device that connects to your filter/pump you have now, check Ebay for this. My friend has an inground salt water pool and she was telling me that as far as adding salt, you just have to keep working with it to determine how much salt is needed to produce correct level of chlorine.
