Does anyone know what the average price is to have a pool man maintain a pool>? |
I was hoping to get an estimated figure to have someone come out and check the chemicals on my pool once a week. I have heard anywhere from $40-$250 a month. I just wanted to have an idea before I start calling around. Thanks Around our area folks are paying close to $200 per month to have this done. However, I have to ask why you want to pay someone to come do this for you when you can do the same things in less than 20 minutes per day and save yourself the monthly cost. Maintaining a pool is extremely easy as long as everything is balanced. Fixing problems is when it becomes expensive. As long as you maintain the proper chemistry balance the only thing you need to do is: Vacuum the pool once per day and backwash the filter as needed. Check the levels of pH, total chlorine, free chlorine and adjust as needed. Once per month you will want to check the alkalinity, hardness, cyanuric acid levels and adjust as needed. Inspect the pool pump/filter/plumbing for leaks. If you like I can teach you how to maintain your pool using chemicals you find at any grocery store/Costco/Sam's Club/Home Depot/Lowe's/mega store which are exactly the same things as the pool store chemicals. And best of all, I won't even charge you anything for my help :-D Feel free to drop me a line at robandliz1992@yahoo.com and include the gallon size of the pool, material it's made of (concrete/plaster or vinyl/fiberglass), and the results of a water analysis as outlined below. With this information I can tailor a schedule for you and teach you all you need to maintain your own pool crystal clear and sanitary. Take a sample of pool water (about a pint) to your local pool store and ask them to test for the following: Total chlorine Free chlorine Combined chlorine pH Alkalinity Hardness Cyanuric acid Total dissolved solids Metals Phosphates Don't purchase anything from them at this time. Just bring these results and the above information back and email me so we can get you started on maintaining your pool.
