Do you put overgrip over the original grip on the tennis racquet?

what do i buy a overgrip or a replacement grip whats the difference?

Well, for most players, putting on an overgrip with (1) prevent your permanent grip from being damaged as well as conserve it; (2) give you a better feel and grip on your racquet. How tightly or loose you hold your grip does make a difference. Also, for some people, sweaty hands during a game can dramtically change the way they hit. A grip will eliminate any doubts. The only problem with overgrips is that if your hands aren't clean all the time, you'll end up spending more money replacing them than what the grips are actually worth. Sometimes I flip-flop between whether I want to use grips or not. They don't impact my particular game a whole lot, but the overgrip does feel a lot better with than without.

I use the Head XtremeSoft overgrip, but they're all pretty much the same.YES, Yes, yes...That is why it is called an "OVER" grip. The overgrip is meant to give the player a better feeling of control while the pretty original grip is more or less a cushin. You should change the overgrip readilly. I change mine once every five to seven days of play however my father who perspires more changes his after only two days of play and my wife only changes hers after it gets too dirty to be pretty enough for her standards, which usually means about once a month. Good luck with your game and don't us a glove if you are using an overgrip because the glove will rip up the overgrip in a matter of minutes. Cheers!
Yes you put the overgrip over the replacement grip

Replacement grips
*go right onto the handle
*are much thicker then all overgrips (about 2 mm)
*tend to last longer, around 2-3 months
*tend to have less feel
*cost around 3x more then overgrips (about $3-$6)

Overgrips
*usually goes over the replacement grip (however you can use two replacement grips on top of each other if your handle is to large)
*Much more thinner then the replacement grip (about .5mm)
*lasts much less then replacement grips, about 2 weeks
*gives you more feel and comfort
*Are much cheaper (about $1 each)

If your looking for a great overgrip I recommend the Wilson Pro overgrip, I love the tacky feel!!!
I use Pro Kennex overgrip, it gives more cushioning
