I am 18 and have been playing tennis for about a year, still a beginner, should I try a tournament? |
I have been practicing regularly, but still nervous, should I just try a tournament anyways? 1st... to the person who said tennis doesn't require much skill... pewy i think it would be a good learning experience to play in a tournament. you can have a chance to play people who are better than you and it helps you to improve. if you are really into the sport i would go for it. just be sure to not enter something where the people are out of your league. it doesn't do you any good to play someone who hits a winner on you everytime (neither does it do them any good). if you can play the game i say find something your level, work hard, and go for it! (and the being nervous thing, well im still not over) try it you will only get better Sure have fun. Unless you're amazing you're probably not going to win it, but at least you'll be able to play with tougher opponents! Go for it, dude. I'm rooting for you.. :) All the best! Believe in yourself that you can do it... go for it, you cant loose, the experience you'll gain makes you a winner absolutely even though u probably wont win the more experience u get the better u are going to get. u will find your progress to be amazing. for example before i moved to my current place of residence, i used to to be awful at tennis cuz i used to play with inexperienced players back in my old town but over here i start playing actual tennis players and i can hardly believe my progress from hitting weak and slow underhand shots to a big heavy topspin forehands. so definitely go for it dude. sure why not, you have nothing to lose |
