Would you like to see a tournament,where the players had to use wooden rackets? |
It would be such so interesting to see how the players would adapt to the old school wood. For tennis experts ,who would it favor????? (for both the men and the women) I was at a physical therapy appointment and we discussed this idea. the idea is a great idea....but in practicality and showmanship purpose....we might be very dissapointed... one of the main reasons why todays tennis is as powerful and as exciting as it is....is due to the evolution of technology which has significantly influenced the design of the rackets mainly... todays racket is vastly different from that of the wooden racket...the amount of power and pace which can be generated will make a world of a difference... however...if the exhibition match was for charity and for funs sake...then it would most certainly be entertaining... the ones who will be hardest hit would have to be the women...the weight of those wooden rackets were oh wow....compared to todays light and powerful rackets...they will have nightmares getting used to it... the only player currently i can think off which could pull it off would be fedex...reason: he currently uses the smallest head racket on tour 90sq in...one of the heaviest 320g (off shelve)...its only a bit bigger in head size and weights slightly lighter then the wooden rackets... all in all it would be fun to watch the players suffer...hahaha no more top spin...everyone would have to revert back to serve and volley tactics... hi, thats a random question, but a good one! Yes i would like to see a tournament,where the players had to use wooden rackets. I think it would be fun to watch, because imagine if some1 had a bad wooden raquet and it broke.... i also think it would favour the men.... because they are stronger????? anyway hope that helps *** bella *** my brilliant mind jokes I think that it would be cool. It would affect the women because they would really have to step up their game and there power hitting shots. This would be really cool. you should pitch the idea to the US Tennis Association!!! Very Smart!! yes i would really like to see it. A question about would be if all the top players would enter it. I also think for the first couple of years that it would be strange for te players to switch rackets. That is another reason y i dont think the top players would enter. Because they would be afraid of messing up their strokes, because of the differences of the wooden and new rackets. i don't think i'd want to see a tournament with wooden raquets. it would be nice to see more serve and volleying which would be forced by wooden raquets, but i think players games have improved overall since adopting new raquets and i wouldn't want to see a drop in level of play. besides, so many of today's pro's would balk at that idea. the new guys would win |
