Is a racket strung at 62 lbs, a control or power racket? |
Also, is 27" more likely to be a junior or women's racket? Thanks! cheers mate ....firstly 27" is fairly standard...its most definately not a juniors racket...but women rackets are also 27" unless you get the extra long ones bout 27.5" normally rackets strung along the 50-60lbs range are meant for power play...as the strings are looser and give more "catapult" from the ball contact with the stringbed...however...for some players a tension range of >57lbs could be considered a control tensioned racket... a 62lbs strung racket in my opinion is most certainly a control stringed one...tension around 60lbs is where the strings are really stiff and disallows a lot of bounce from the stringbed and contact with the ball... hope it helps ya out...cheers mate most likely it is a control racquet for a power player. the higher string pressure will do less to aid in the power but give a more acurate shot higher tension provides more control, lesser tension provides more power....at 62 lbs on most rackets, it is a control racket....there is not really a men or women racket professionally wise.....it's more of player style vs racket.... a control racket because a power should be at 90. It depends on what string you use as well as the racket. A Wilson and Head racket is normally rackets with less power than prince and Babolat in general. But i think even with a Babolat racket it would be difficult to get power in you string it 62lbs. I would say if you are not a professional player the best would be to buy a racket with a big sweet spot. That would also help you with the power problem. So to answer your question in one sentence,62lbs is more for control! tennis lovers i heard is a control raquet |
