How do i get in shape for volleyball? that depends on your team. In hs I would do lots of sprinting and long distance to build endurance. In college I did more sprinting and plyo's, stuff like lunges and jumping activities. jog for 1/2 an hour, exercise yr hands and foots, and u need to do plenty of high jump! My coach told me to run a mile every other day during summer and as often as you can during school. It helps build endurance. I would also do lots of situps and pushups to get muscle for power. Wall sits are always torturous, but good. it depends on what possition u r playing but you really need to work on your leg muscles and jumping unless you are a server then you need to work on your arm muscles a little more i made the team run, run, run...it helps you with your leg muscles. and arm muscles if you have your arms pumping. pushups help arm strength and situps help you get that volleyball belly I would be able to run a mile in under 8-10 minutes. Also, do 100 crunches, 50 push-ups, 50 calf-raises, wall sits for 2-5 minutes every day! Also, work on your vertical jump by trying to touch a high spot on a wall or doing jump-rope. Make sure you have enough endurance to serve and hit consistently, too. |
