Please explain to me the game of volleyball. Like the rules of the game. How/Where/When did the game start. And any other information you can give to me on volleyball. Thanks. In volleyball you can either serve overhand or underhand. you can only hit the ball 3 times (it is best to bump, set, spike. ) You can block anytime except on the serve. When you Spike, if your behind the attack line you can not jump. (unless when you jump your hand does not exceed the volleyball net, but that only applies for very short people.) You personally can not hit the ball two times in a row. when you serve you can not step on the serving line. Thats all i can think of right now. Oh, and have as much fun as possible ok wel i dunno how/wher/when the game started but i can give u this....the court is alot smaller than a basketball court (if its inside). u cant hit the ball more than 3 times-the 3rd hit it has 2 go ovr the net. u cant touch the ball w/ ur palms. if ur team serves the ball, no 1 from ur team can touch it on the way ovr. wen the othr team passes the ball back ovr, u hit/set/spike it. not that hard. u hav 2 practice alot,. Volleyball started in 1895 in Holyoke, Mass at the YMCA. It was originally called mintonette and was played with 9 players on a side. It was a combination of basketball and tennis rules. You can go on usavolleyball.org and download a copy of the rule book. The rule book is roughly 160 pages and complicated to understand if you are not familiar with the game. The basics include a maximum of 3 hits on a side. One team will serve the ball (put it in play) until the other teams wins the play. Then, they will serve. The games are played to 25 points in most of the world or 30 points in colleges and high schools in the US. Every serve means a point for one team or the other like tennis or badminton. The best way to get to know the game is to watch it. If you can get to a live match, it will be great. You can often find someone at the match who might answer some questions as long as you limit them. (They are there for a reason.
