Volleyball help!!!?

I am thinking about joining volleyball and I was wondering if you have to be a certain age (sophmore, senior, etc.) to join varsity or junior varsity. And what if there is only a varsity team?

The only age restrictions are downward. Seniors can not play on the JV team and no one but freshmen are allowed to play on the freshman team. A talented freshman can play on the freshman, the JV or the Varsity team.
In other words-
Freshman team-only freshmen
JV team-freshmen, sophomores, and juniors
Varsity-freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors
i would think every school is different. why not go and ask your gym teacher?
I think it's a good idea that you are planning to join volleyball. The only possible way is to get in contact with the volleyball coach to see if you can join the team. It's best to ask what requirements they ask like the ones you asked about the age or the year your in. It's best to do that because every school is different. If you haven't gotten in contact with the volleyball coach I say it's best to start a little training thing so you will be prepared for volleyball practice evenif your not sure if you can join just start training on the safe side. The best thing to do is running or even try hitting the volleyball aroung because practice makes perfect. Believe me I had friends who wished they started traing since they would be more prepared for the running and everything else that goes with the game of volleyball. Well good luck.
i wouldn't think it mattered. im a freshman and my coach told me that if you're good enough, you can play freshman, JV, or varsity. i think it may only seem like the upperclassman play Varsity either because they are better or have more experience.
No, you don't have to be a certain age. Most of the time the older players (seniors, juniors) are Varsity because they have more experience. If there is only one varsity team, that most likely means that you have a smaller school than others who have 2 teams. You could go ask your gym teacher, or the head volleyball coach any questions you still have. But definitely try out. If you don't make the team, you haven't lost anything. Good Luck!
Junior Varsity ranges usually from freshman to sophmores. And Varisty is juniors and seniors. with the exception of if your really good as a freshman or sophmore then you could be on varstiy. If theres only a varsity team still play it'll be good experience... belive me i no!
well, you can be any age to be on JV or varsity, it matters on skill... but i know at my school, seniors HAVE to be on varsity or they don't make the squad. and if theres only a varsity there will be no JV, so you have to be on varsity skill level.
