What exercises and/or drills to do for volleyball alone and w/o a court? |
i need to get into shape for the vball season, i'm only jv level but boy is it competitive! i don't have a large space to exercise in, and i don't have a court either, but i really need to practice my skills and do conditioning to get into shape and beat the competition? any suggestions? i have that same problem :] find a nice empty wall to practice your bumps and sets. what i do, to practice my serve, is serve it lightly to the wall and then start bumping it and setting it as long as possible. also, stand in place and set the ball as long as you can. it helps with your control. in spiking in serving, wrist movement is very important to get spin on the ball. im not sure if you do it- but do you see when people bounce the ball before they serve? do that. hit the ball light once, then snap your wrist hard but keep it controled. that will help with your wrist muscles and improve it alot. and also for hitting, practice your approach! i had a few months off volleyball, so i practiced my approach before season started- and i immediately got my spike back! good luck. Source(s): varsity volleyball, experience get a ball and set and bump and serve against a wall I鈥檓 not volleyball expert but, I think you should exercise your legs and arms if you're going to practice without a court. google.com im in jv too and i know the tight space deal. i run around the block i live on, do wall sits in my bedroom and swim (a lot) in my pool. u dont need a court to do planks, situps or jumprope either. good luck in ur jv season You could do some basic running for conditioning. Then, you could bump it and set towards a wall, or practice with a friend who's trying out as well. |
