What is a counter movement?

I was in practice 2 or 3 months ago and I was the demontratee for how to dig a ball. Coach remarked on how i did a counter movement, but I honestly do not know what it is! lol

maybe your coach was talking about how you deal with hard balls (spike or jump serve) and how you deal with softer approaching balls (tap/tip or floater serve).

if you are digging hard balls, you do not fight the force of the ball but you absorb its force (give some cushioning when it makes contact to your hands).

but if you are digging a softer spike or serve, you have to give the ball a little push towards your setter so that the ball goes there.

erm... good luck understanding what i say. lol.

and if you have anything to ask, u know where to get me.
When you adjust to get to the ball.
