Starting high school...girls volleyball question?

I am starting high school this fall and I want to play volleyballfor the school. I have played volleyball before a lot but I would still consider myself a beginner. What should I look out for and what should I work on? Also, is there any special equipment I should look out for?

Thanks!

I'm going to say the same thing to you that I said to some other people. Work hard, Call the ball and Pay attention. Those are three things the coach can't teach you, so they expect it from you. During the summer, if you have a ball and a friend, play pepper (hit it back and forth to each other.....pass, set, spike, pass, set, spike, each person alternates these actions). Work on control and conditioning.

As far as special equipment, you'll need some good shoes and knee pads will help (although technically, if you're diving properly you don't need them). Your school may have some hitting and setting equipment but those are training tools and easy to operate.

Try going to camps if you can and make sure you know the rules and court positions. Not knowing where you should be is the biggest error I've encountered as a high school coach. If you can learn that quickly, you'll have a leg up.

Good Luck!
ARE YOU SERIOUS, IT'S VOLLEYBALL......EVERYONE MAKES THE TEAM.....GOSH!
COMMON SINCE
My BFF plays girls volleyball and she was a beginner last year when we went iinto highschool. She waited a year and she is on the team this year as a starter.
work on how hard you hit the ball and how straight make sure the ball goes where ur aimming it for
Just make sure you show the coaches that you have potential they will take you on the team if they think they can make a good player out of you. So make sure you are coacheable and a good listener that is really what the freshman coaches are looking for. However if you dont make the team dont be discouraged. i didnt make the team my freshman year but i joined a local club team and made the team my sophomore year as a starter. So just go to tryouts and have a good time and if you dont make the team get better over the summer and tryout again next year! Good Luck and Have fun!
