What size wakeboard should i get? |
i'm 5'9" and 157lbs. im riding a hyperlite JUVI 131cm that I found in the shed, but it seems like it's too small. im a beginner. thanks they have a chart at your local surf shop You should ride a board in the 132-135 range. Beginner or not thats the normal range, a little length to the board will give you more stability and set your bindings back so the fin sits farther in the water. Your talking about centimeters so unless your a pro one or two isnt going to seem that drastic. Demo a board a your local shop to find the board your most comfortable with. Good Luck and Wake or Die It is all about what size you want to ride. I hate those charts that companies select for you depending on your size because someone might prefer a bigger board and someone might want a smaller board. As long as you aren't sinking deep into the water, then you should be fine with your board. Usually people want smaller boards because it is so much easier to do tricks and to move around. I ride a 137 and am 5'10 and like that size. It is alot harder for me to do tricks with a 141 (my brother's board size). I have used a 134 before and it wasn't too small for me. If your board is sinking way too far into the water, then you might want to get a bigger board. I doubt that you are sinking into the water though and I think that your board size should fit you right. Remember though that the bigger the board you get, the harder it is for you to ride with it. Also the bigger you are, the easier it is for you to use a bigger board. ok, i can give you a chart for the weight. Up to 85 lbs- 119cm Up to 105 lbs- 121cm Up to 130 lbs- 130 - 131cm Up to 160 lbs-132 - 133cm Up to 180 lbs- 134 - 135cm Up to 200 lbs- 136 - 139cm 200 lbs & Up- 140cm & Up but im a 95 lb. kid, and i ride a body glove 135, so length isnt not that much of a concern, but if i were you i'd get a 132-133 cm board. im a wakeboarder |
