How long does it take to get your lungs conditioned for soccer? |
how can i get conditioned? running, walking, how many minutes a day? what should i eat? Minimum 5 weeks if you are under 20, and that includes training for +/- 2hours, 5 days a week. Over 20-25 the time roughly doubles. The best meals are low in fat, high in protein, good carb count, and high in fruits. Lots of water is a must. You basically have to flush your bocy and begin building up. If you are already in decent physical shape, you can reduce the total time to half. But remember, its not all running. Training has to include ball skills and tactical awareness. Source(s): coaching experience playing experience work-out scheduling I would focus on running. Try distance running. It will get you in good shape for soccer. Remember in soccer you can cover 4 miles or more in the course of a game. I would try to run for at least 30 minutes a day and increase as you go. You may want to crosstrain some lap swimming in there too. Again over 20-25 minutes. Eating eat heathly...fruits, vegetables, etc. The nioght before games make sure you ate enough carbohydrates( pasta is great)! For a person who is not overweight to prepaire for a soccers eason a few weeks of running a mile or so is all that you will need. It doesn't take to long to get into shape...the first couple of days are hard with being lame and still telling yourself to go out and run. But it is important to stay at it. Depends if your talking club or AYSO, AYSO you don't need to get in shape, in club you probably need a month. Run 1-2 miles a day, practice breathing, etc. Running long distance is good to help get you in shape, but remember Soccer is not just running for 90 minutes. You start, you stop, you jog, you sprint. Make sure to do some interval training, i.e. short to medium sprints with direction changes. This will help get your body used to the type of cutting and sprinting that is required in a soccer game. It probably takes 6-8 weeks to get into "game shape" if you are currently physically active. If you are currently inactive and are taking up soccer it will take longer to get in shape. Good Luck & have fun with it. Soccer is a great game!!! Running about 1-2 miles per day and eat a healthy balanced diet. It should take about 1 month |
