In soccer, is it ok for a woman to protect her chest with her arms if she does not lift or move her arms? |
In soccer, is it legal for a women to put her arms across her chest to protect it from the ball - as long as she does not lift or move her arms when they come in contact with the ball? Technically speaking, yes it is. But depends on whether or not the ref thinks it is intentional and/or if there was any advantage by using your forearms. Source(s): My dad is a ref for the high school and club teams in my area. For it to become a handball in women's or men's soccer there has to be intention. If it is inadvertent contact then it is not a handball. Of course not! If a woman is playing soccer, the well-being of her chest should not be a concern. In fact, she should probably have her breasts removed to make her more effective. I don't think so. Its not legal in mens soccer. but why do that when you can just trap the ball with your chest, stings for a sec if you do it wrong. played for 10 years As my friends in the business used to say about the women players when they were going to chest a ball down, "Put a tit on it!" you can't protect your chest, ya just have to accept the ball in a way that won't hurt! |
