How many professional women's soccer teams are there in the US and where are they located?

The Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA), which was a professional league in the US had eight teams:

Atlanta Beat
Boston Breakers
Carolina Courage
New York Power
Philadelphia Charge
San Diego Spirit
San Jose CyberRays
Washington Freedom

Unfortunately, the league shut down in 2003 after 3 years due to a lack of sponsorship.

I thought the league folded a few years back... no?
That's what I thought too.
But, who really pays attention?
As far as I know there are no professional women's soccer in the US anymore.
there is the Wleague that is part of the USL that is the only league and there are teams all over. www.usl.com
