Why did benetez spend millions to buy back robbie fowler and not play him regularly? |
What a bloody waste of liverpools talent? Because of the imminent UEFA regulations regarding the number of home-grown players in a squad. As of next season (I believe, but correct me if I am wrong), clubs must have at least four 'home-grown' players, rising to six, eight and ten in subsequent seasons. Fowler fits into this category. This is also the reason that the likes of Arsenal have signed so many foreign youngsters. If they spend X amount of time/games playing for the youth team then they qualify. Judging by the amount of clubs using this loophole, the future doesn't look too rosy for the English international side. Too many people are interested in a quick profit with little or no regard for the future of the game. EXTREME WASTE!!!!!!!!! Millions? Closer to nothing as Man City released him from his contract so he could go back to where he called home. Robbie will always be a good player to bring off the bench and a good player to cover the squad...... his is coming to the end of his time.. but still a good buy in my eyes think of all the young players (YTS) coming in and learning from him the guy will be a god in there eyes..... im a toon fan and this is why shearer still has contact with the club in my eyes its not all about the pitch because hes a fool!!!!!!!!!! benitez spend millions ? he was free, but i agree i would play him every match. beacuse he is a valuable player to liverpool, if crouch or another striker is off form he will play fowler, he ofter scores goals or sets goals up. he is a very good player. |
