Now that it's a foregone conclusion that man unt will win thier 2nd treble, will jose & arsen please bow to me i wouldnt speak too sonn mate, talk like that can blow up in your face. dont get me wrong i want man utd to win the league ahead of chelsea, but saying that this soon could all end in tears Its a foregone conclusion that you have put this in the wrong section more like There's only one team in England ever won two trebles, and Man U aren't going to join that illustrious club, well not in my lifetime anyway and I'm only 38. I like how you call it a mickey-mouse treble. I guarantee 99.99% of United fans wouldn't say no to winning the League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup in the same season. Liverpool's first treble was in 1984 and it was the League Title, The League Cup and The European Cup. If you want to start nit-picking then lets look at Liverpools Treble in 1984 and Uniteds in 1999, and more specifically the European Cup. Why were Liverpool competing for the European Cup in 1983/84. Because they won the league in 1982/83, and the only way you could qualify for the European Cup, was to actually win it or win your country's League Title the year before. Why were United competing for the European Cup in 1998/99. They finished second in the league the year before, so if the rules would have been the same in 1999 as they were in 1984 then United would have competed in the UEFA Cup. So because the rules have been changed so as the lesser teams can compete for the European Cup, that is why United won it. If the proper rules had been in place United would have been in the UEFA Cup in 1999. The fact still remains that Liverpool have won 2 trebles and United haven't, and I'll have been dead a very long time before they do. Once a blue, always a manc Foregone conclusion? ....Up yours. And these Man U fans wonder why they are hated so much, am a massive Chelsea fan and my mates won't even say where the title is going. And as for your 2nd treble, don't talk rubbish mate, how can you expect to win the League, Champions League and FA Cup, when you can't even beat Southend in the Carling Cup. If your so confident that Man Utd will win the league, i will have you an even money bet, you just name the amount my friend and stick your money where your mouth is. |
