Have you met a wrestler personally from any federation? |
If so, was it a good experience, or a bad one? I met 2 crazy cats; one Jake the Snake Roberts, and years ago Rick Rude and Pat Patterson. Jake was out there. He was very intimidating. I thought any minute he'd dump me with a DDT. He was scary but he was really cool. I saw him in a restaurant and you couldn't miss him. He shook my hand and was very appreciative, and told me that I must be demented if I liked him. This was post drug problems Jake; I'm not a big wrestling fan anymore but Jake was the master. I really liked him and it was a fun experience. Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Triple H, all said Jake was a huge contributor to their persona. Get tapes, because no one was a better heel. When Jake had a devenomated cobra biting Macho Man Randy Savage in the arm while being hung up on the side ropes, it freaked me out. There were grown men in the crowd with tears in their eyes and women and kids were screaming to help Savage. The snake's fangs got caught in Savage's arm and it wouldn't release. Jake laughed the whole time. Unreal theater. Rick Rude was intense, he somewhat stayed in character and told me and my friend that if we really loved our women, they would have them spend the night with him so they could be fulfilled and happy. It was so funny. He talked for a short time and then winked at us and said take care guys. Very cool guy and very funny. Very sad loss when he passed away. Big time wrestling was huge in the San Francisco bay area. Pat Patterson was king and he was very humble and nice. I saw him at a sports show 5-6 years ago. He talked about the fun guys, like Moon Dog Mayne, Kenji Shabuya, and Peter Mauvia, and the soul man Rocky Johnson. Pat was very open to talking and took many photos. The nicest guy you want to meet. I was impressed by him big time. A friend of mine actually met the Great Andre the Giant. My friend said he is probably the nicest man he's ever met. Andre took a picture with everyone that came by him and bought several rounds for the bar patrons that night. When he saw Andre later that year at the same restaurant/bar, Andre remembered his name and asked him if he enjoyed himself. Andre was a brilliant man with a high IQ as well. Many loved him. I also met Bobby Heenan; what a fantastic man. So nice and humble. Bobby was the funniest announcer ever. His quotes with Guerrila Monsoon were the funniest things in wrestling. Even with cancer I get an e-mail once in a great while. He loves the fans. Kane (with the partial mask) stayed out one time and shook people's hands. i met john cena his hands r big i met kurt angle and matt hardy kurt is a bit stand offish but matt seems like a really nice guy. i met batista at an autograph signing once, he was very nice to people and shook hands with everyone and signed everything you gave him yea but the best had to be at WCW thunder I met Prince Iakai and asked what it was like to be a jobber and walked off. Points Baby!!! I met John Cena(that f@g). |
