  • Question:
Would you continue to support them?

    Answer:
I still seeing myself being a Yankee Fan even if they left.

    Other Answers:
I think it depends on the circumstances:

    The bad:

The Vancouver Grizzlies. I know a lot of the blame lies with Stu Jackson and putting together such an awful team that it was hard to support them. But David Stern lied to all the fans in Vancouver saying he didn't want to move the franchise while at the same time doing everything he could to move the team - first to St. Louis and then to Memphis. I will NEVER cheer for that team again.

    The Good:

Growing up in Canada even though I was 3000 miles away I always liked the Expos. Lots of fond memories of watching them on CBC with Dave van Horn announcing. But when they finally moved to Washington I still had a soft spot in my heart for the team. Apart from the contraction issue - which was always just a negotiating ploy - it's hard to argue that Montreal was somehow screwed by baseball. The city simply didn't support the team and moving was the only way for them to survive. No hard feeling about that and I still wish the Nationals well.

That actually happened to me but in football. I'm a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan and the Browns packed up and moved to Baltimore. I followed them a little bit especially when they were in the Super Bowl but eventually Cleveland got another football team so it wasn't a problem anymore.

If the Indians moved and Cleveland didn't get another team then I'd probably follow some of the players in the new city but depending on the circumstances of the move I don't know if I'd be able to root for the new team for the long term.

edit: I know the Braves moved 40 years ago to Atlanta and you're no where near 40 but do you know if there are still people in Milwaukee that follow the Braves?

I used to play hockey and i kind of know how this one goes. My contract was never released up when the hockey team folded operations. I then had to try out for another team and they claimed me off of waivers and denied me the right to play for an entire year

Stuck between two teams feeling like a fool.
It was resolved late in the year and i never got to play a game!

That's kind of how Seattle Supersonics fans feel now.

Personally I would say no unless it was with my Cubs or Bulls and they moved to say Gary or Hammond or something in Northwest Indiana or southern Wisconsin. Regionally.

This would never happen to them though. Maybe the White Sox who do not have a loyal fan base.

    Phillies phan here

Uhmm they wouldn't do it and if they did They would not make it outta the city alive.

One of the oldest teams in all of sports history leaving its home?

Philly wouldn't take it well. You thought riots from them WINNING was good imagine if they left.

Yes I would because I grew up rooting for my team and have gotten use to watching their games and listening to their announcers I couldn't see myself investing in another team emotionally. I would order MLB Extra Innings every year so that I could continue watching them.

Of course. I can't seem to stay away from my dbacks. When they traded my favorite player after my team had been eliminated from the playoffs I tried to boycott watching my team. But I can't stay away from them. I would probably end up moving to that city!

I'd be kinda upset and confused to be honest but i'd still support them 110% :)

i'd be sad and pretty depressed however because that means my team would have to go through another name change. -__-:
    For better or for worse.

Due to the history of the Yankees in New York I doubt that I would support them if they left.

My uncle was a big New York Giant fan before they moved to San Fran in 1958. He never followed them again. In 1962 when the Mets can to New York he became a Mets fan and still is.

I live in Indiana my Cubs are alreay in another state so it wouldn't bother me so much BUT it may be a different story if the Colts packed up (again). i may be bitter i've had season tix since 94

Yes I will still continue to support them. As long as they retain the team name (Red Sox) like Portland Red Sox. I will. I eat sleep and breathe Red Sox... OK that was a little bit exaggerated.

Of course. Why not? I dont even live in Chicago (I wasn't even born in the same country) and I still support the Cubs. Them moving would make no difference.

I would not. The Sonics moved to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder so I am not watching NBA anymore.

Hell No. I would put a hit on the owner who sold the team.

Even if the Yankees moved to Portland Oregon I would still root for them! But thankfully that will never happen.

i think i would ...im a padres fan no matter if the suck or even if they move to a different place.....i cant imagine san diego without baseball..

I definitely would if they moved to my state.

No doubt but thankfully the Yanks will never move .

sure why not they r still the same team. it's the owners that r bozos

once a Phillies fan always a phillies fan dammit lol They rock and they couldnt leave Philly it is in there name lol

Absolutely!! The owner changed their name so they look stupid but I'm an Angel fan for life!!

Im a (RED) sox fan and I live in NJ I don't care where they play I just love the Sox. Go Sox!

    yeah probably

No not at all. If my favorite team left me behind I would do the same.

I'm a Cardinals fan no matter where they are. Hard to imagine that they'd leave St. Louis though.

I would root for the Brewers ... because i dint care for the sox... im a Cub fan and always will be
