Well I’ll be. Y’all are nerdier than I took you for. Playing in the band all those years. Makes me wonder what else I don’t know about you.

Thanks for all the great clarinet advice by the way. You’re so wise.

Did anyone notice the embarrassing comment my sister Stephanie left on yesterday’s post? Yeah so I said something about the clarinet not seeing the light of day after I graduated in 1994. Um oops. Turns out my little sister played that very clarinet for EIGHT YEARS. I guess I knew this but completely forgot. I was away at college and busy falling in love and getting married and all that. Way too self-absorbed to notice my sister’s mad clarinet skillz let alone actually watch one of her concerts or halftime shows.

Forgive me sweet sister. I will make it up to you by showering your baby girl with more attention and affection than any one child can stand.

And now that I think about it memories are coming back to me. I do remember Steph in her marching band uniform. I think I’ve suppressed a lot of high school memories for various reasons.

THANK YOU for praying for my trip to Indy. It was awesome. Praise you Jesus. I did nearly get killed on the way there so if you were praying around 7:00 a.m. you probably saved my life. It poured down rain for 2 hours and stayed dark forever. There were semis all around me and at one point I couldn’t see AT ALL and almost hit one. Eek. The drive home was perfect even though my large McDonald’s Coke only lasted an hour.

The MOPS group was wonderful. Beautiful fabulous honest women. I loved getting to chat with some of them afterward. God used them to bless my socks off. Girls if any of you are reading this please say hi! It was an honor and a pleasure getting to spend time with you! And bless you for the dee-licious brunch!

Livi and Ava don’t have school today so my sister Bethany and niece Isabelle are coming to spend the day with us. We’re so excited!! We have big plans that may or may not involve the thrift store and a certain Asian bistro.

I have an idea. Let’s play a little True/False game to kick off our weekend (don’t ask me how this helps kick off a weekend).

True or False?

1. Besides the clarinet I could also play a pretty mean flute.

2. I went to the same high school as my parents.

3. I ran cross country and track for 6 years.

4. I started running cross country in 7th grade because our pastor’s cute son asked me at church one Sunday “So are you running cross country?” I looked down at him (he was really short) and said “Why yes. Yes I am.” Then I got in the car to go home and asked my dad “Hey Dad. What’s cross country?”

5. My 4×400 meter relay team held the school record for 10 years after I graduated.

6. I was a basketball star (if you call averaging 4 points a game a “star”).

9. At one point my bangs were at least three inches tall.

10. I always secretly wanted to be a cheerleader.
